I am very happy with this change and I hope this helps someone else. Just make very small changes every time and you'll be OK. I had to repeat this adjustment about 5 times, making ever smaller changes to the screw's position before I got 33.34 from the app on my phone. Repeat this whole process for 45 RPM if you want to. Repeat the adjustment until you get a result very close to 33.33. Run the app on your phone again to test the new speed. Turn it counter-clockwise to make the table go slower. Turn it clockwise to make the table go faster. Seriously - a TINY turn is probably all you need. Turn the screw but only very, very slightly. Very, very slowly and gently, seat the screwdriver into the screw inside that hole without turning it. Use that to gently poke through the fabric covering inside the 33 hole. Mine showed 34.9 at first (when set on the 33 1/3 RPM setting).Ĭarefully, look under the TT for the two holes marked "33" and "45". This is not perfect but again, close enough is close enough for me.

It's free and easy to use and very quickly shows you how fast your TT is roatating.

I have an android phone, so I chose RPM Speed & Wow from the Google Play store. I downloaded an app to determine my TT's speeds. OK, so, I realized some of my records sounded too fast recently and here's how I fixed that: If you are an audiophile and hate this TT, please go read something else. I am OK with my LP60 and I suspect there are at least a few people here who feel the same way and may have this same problem (someday). I am not an expert and obviously not an audiophile. Lowered my rating a little.I currently have an AT LP60 turntable and realized recently it was too fast when set at 33 1/3 for most of my LPs. **Edit: Didn't realize at first but these lp60, including mine, commonly come with bent platters. dun dun dun my wife had the detrola 10 yrs and never changed the stylus or cleaned a record.

On the other hand some of the damage was probably caused by the fact that. I have a feeling this will scale well with a nice amp, looking at Schiit, and some better speakers.ĭownside - some of the damaged records produce loud pops and cracks because of the scratches. With just this set up it already sounds much more detailed than the Detrola. This allowed me to plug them directly into some bose companion speakers, to get things started, while I look for a phono amp and better speakers. What I also like about it is the phono/line switch. You are limited to a specific stylus from what I see. It does not have counter weight or anti skate adjustments. It has rubber under the feet to absorb some vibrations and decent weight to keep it planted.

The arm is light and the stylus is a decent fair. Slightly warped records are not a problem. It has a nice aluminum platter, belt driven so that reduces noise from what I read. I paid $99, but you might find it cheaper somewhere else. Also since the LP60 is fully automatic there's no dropping the needle or dragging it on the record.īuild is good for the price. So in comparison, just buying and using this should prolong you albums. I have heard the detrolas have a very heavy arm and put extra wear on the records. I purchased the LP60 non-usb model really to replace my wife's detrola "vintage" looking player. I am also not associated with any companies. I'm not very experienced in record players to give a detailed review. This is really just to give a quick opinion.
